History

1974 saw the opening of the first Sekisui Jushi strapping factory outside of Japan.  The Netherlands provided a willing, able and available work force for this new venture, with the then Minister for Economic Affairs, Ruud Lubbers performing the opening ceremony.

The town of Roermond was specifically chosen with new employment opportunities being encouraged as the local coal mines were in decline, and Government support made this a good choice.

Success followed and in 1990 the company moved less than a kilometre to a new factory twice the size of the original. This coincided with the opening of the UK Sales Office to meet the growing demands of the British Isles.

Sekisui Jushi continues to innovate and to lead its market segment in plastic strap production and sales: July 2006, saw the first award of ISO 9001:2000, which was maintained then superseded in 2009 by ISO 9001:2008.
